Relay 410px 14 09 30Sri Lankan 4×400 Men’s relay team qualified for the Asian games finals after being placed 5th in the first round of the relay event held at the Incheon Asiad Stadium.

Sri Lanka managed to clock 3 minute and 10 seconds and qualified as one of the fastest losers during the heats.

The Lankan team will compete in the finals to be staged on the 2nd of October.

Even the runners of the Sri Lankan relay team had not expected them to qualify for the finals as they were placed 5th mainly due to weak baton exchange. The team comprises of Kalinga Kumarage, Anjana Gunaratne, Kasun Kalhara and Dhanushka Karunaratne.

Japan was placed first with after clocking 3 minutes and 05 seconds while China and Kazakhstan completed the top three.
