slmc logo 410px 29-06-12A special executive committee meeting in the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress is to be called in today in the evening to discuss about the JHU proposition of abolishing the 13th Amendment and the views of Govt members regarding the bill.

Executive committee member and the National organizer of the SLMC Mr. Shafeek Rajabdeen said that his party is not agreeing to any decision which abolishes the 13th Amendment.

He said that if the 13th amendment is abolished, then the whole constitution should be abolished with it as the 13th amendment has helped to preserve peace and the integrity of the country.

He also reminded that if the 13 Amendment is to be abolished, then the decision of the North and Eastern PCs should be counted as key factors.

Meanwhile Minister Dew Gunasekera says that nearly 31 Govt members are objecting this proposition

However, UPFA Secretary Minister Susil Premajayanth says that the final decision of the Alliance has not yet been taken and will be done by the President.
