UNP LOGO 410px(Mirror) – The  measures adopted for removal of the CJ by the President  and  Govt  is not only ant- constitutional, its is traitorous  act which betrays the war heroes, says the UNP. By this action , the path has been cleared for countries to interfere in Sri Lankan affairs at the UN Human Right Commission  and if it leads to an unfavorable situation for the war heroes, the total responsibility fall on the ‘ family corporation, according to a statement released by the General Secretary of the UNP, Mr. Tissa Attanayake.

The UNP points out that since the Impeachment Motion to remove the Chief Justice, Dr. Shrani Bandaranayke was not duly passed in Parliament, the President has neither  legal right to dismiss the CJ from office  or to appoint a new Chief Justce.
