WomenCricket 410px 14 10 23It has been revealed that the lawyer Manori Jinadasa, appointed to investigate the allegation on demanding sexual bribes from the members of the Sri Lanka women's cricket team, is not independent.

The suspicion has raised as she was appointed by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and recommended by legal officer at SLC Palitha Kumarasiri, reports say.

However, the Sport Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage boasted at the parliament and told media that the investigation will be conducted independently with the assistance of a former judge.

The investigation report is to be submitted next Monday and recording of evidence was done yesterday (Nov 12) and the day before.

Players scared to testify

However, it has been reported that the female players were extremely scared of testifying.

The reason behind this reaction was the member of the investigation and SLC human resources manager Lasith Mendis giving out information on recorded evidences to Daily Mirror newspaper after the players testified.

The critiques are of the opinion that the information was leaked as the Daily Mirror journalist Channaka de Silva and Lasith Mendis were classmates of Richmond College,Galle.

Attempt to safeguard Roshan and Suchithra

Now it a famous secret that it was selection committee member Suchithra Alexander and manager of the team Roshan Iddamalgoda  who  demanded sexual bribes from the members of Sri Lanka women's cricket team.

The critiques are of the opinion that it is the SLC Secretary Nishantha Ranatunga who is attempting to safeguard them.

Suchithra is the Colts Cricket Club’s manager in charge of grounds and also a person who made immense effort to elect Nishantha as the President of the club.

Roshan is a higher official at Ragama Cricket Club and it was the Ragama Cricket Club which nominated Nishantha for the post of SLC Secretary.
